Celebrating STAR WARS

Almost two years after the initial hotel sale the official Star Wars Celebration hotel block will be opening up again this week. This time ReedPOP are doing things slightly differently with ticket holders getting early access this week before the general public gain access next week. Jedi Master VIPs get first access from 12:00 PM PT tomorrow, June 1. All other badge holders will then be able to book their rooms from 12:00 PM PT on Thursday, June 3rd. And finally general public access will begin next week at 12:00 PM PT on Thursday, June 10th. Quite how this early access will work hasn't been revealed yet. Access emails should be sent out to all ticket holders ahead of the sale time that will include instructions on how to access the hotel block. These should be linked to your ticket purchase so even those who don't receive email updates should get the email. Because of the the new early access VIPs should have no problem getting the room of their choice, even in the super po...

Hello there! It feels like a long time since we got a Star Wars  Celebration update so how's this for exciting news? Star Wars Celebration Anaheim has been brought forward three months and will now take place May 26-29th next year! The surprise announcement dropped on StarWars.com  today and means we are now just over a year away from celebrating together again! Like last time, current ticket holders who want to keep their tickets don't need to take any further action whilst those who require a refund need to go to this page of the official Celebration website where they can request a refund until June 11, 2021. Interestingly it appears that ReedPOP are partnering with Lyte for the refund process. Lyte normally handles the ticket exchange for Celebration. Probably nothing, but worth noting as it could suggest that Lyte will be handling any ticket re-sales nearer once ReedPOP know how many tickets they have available. The full statement on the official Celebration site...

I've made it no secret that one of the things I love to do each Celebration is pick up a print from the Art Show. This year, since fans can't go to the Celebration Art Show, the Celebration Art Show is coming to the fans as this year's prints will be on sale to everyone via Dark Ink Art later today! Announced by the official site on Friday, this year's Art Show will feature work by 22 artists inspired by the entire Star Wars  saga from the Original Trilogy to The Bad Batch and if you follow the link you'll be able to read comments from each of them as they discuss the inspiration for their work. This year's artists are Jerry Vanderstelt, Candice Dailey, Kayla Woodside, Danny Haas, Brian Miller, Joe Hogan, Adam Schickling, Asia Ellington, Malcolm Tween, Russell Walks, Katie Cook, Spencer Brinkerhoff, Brian DeGuire, Karen Hallion, Cat Staggs, Dawn Murphy, Erik Maell, Chris Trevas, Lee Kohse, William O'Neill, Corey Galal, and Jeff Carlisle. I have updated th...

Let's be honest, when the Celebration Store first opened virtually in August it was a bit of a let down with an extremely limited selection of merchandise available. There was also talk of the remaining products being released in waves which would have been a nightmare in shipping costs for fans in the US never mind internationally. Thankfully there seems to have been a bit of a rethink and when the Celebration Store returns tomorrow it will have the FULL RANGE of products that would have been in Anaheim this year. Yes, we're talking everything from the traditional badge art shirts and pin collection to plush tauntaun slippers and mudhorn eggs! Like last time, 2020 badge holders will get an exclusive early access period before the store opens up to all fans worldwide. Early access begins tomorrow  at 12 noon (ET) with standard opening following a week later on November 20th at 12 noon (ET). Ticket holders make sure to watch your emails today as you should be receiving an em...

Good morning Star Wars  fans! Today would have been the big day. Star Wars Celebration Anaheim. In a perfect world we'd be catching up with old friends whilst lining up for the show floor, the opening panel (almost certainly a 40th anniversary celebration of The Empire Strikes Back ), or maybe the show store. Well, Celebration itself might be delayed until 2022 but the show store is opening tomorrow! Announced last night by the official site , everyone who had tickets to Star Wars Celebration 2020 will be able to access the official Celebration store from midday (ET) on Friday, August 28. Then, from midday on Monday, August 31, the store will be open to everyone. You can head over to Shop.StarWarsCelebration.com right now to browse the initial selection of merchandise and if you had tickets for Anaheim 2020 you should receive an email today giving you instructions on how to log in for early access tomorrow. I've update the 2020 Exclusives page with all the merchandise reve...

In the wake of Celebration Anaheim 2020 being cancelled Disney have announced that the Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite, originally due to be held on August 27th, has now been postponed. In a brief update on the Disney Parks Blog they state "In light of the recent cancellation of Star Wars Celebration, we are making the decision to postpone Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite. Please visit Disneyland.com/starwarsnite for details. For more information on Star Wars Celebration please visit starwarscelebration.com " The Star Wars Nite link takes you to Disneyland's Travel Information page where it says "We are working on rescheduling options and hope to have more to share at a later date." Your Star Wars Nite ticket will automatically be eligible for the new date, but "Guests who no longer wish to use their current Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite ticket may call (714) 781-4636 for assistance." My best guess is that S...

We've known for a while that Star Wars Celebration was unlikely to take place in August, now we have official confirmation. In a statement posted to the official Celebration website and the Star Wars Celebration social media channels, ReedPOP officially announced the cancellation of this year's Celebration along with the news that Celebration would return to Anaheim in 2022. The statement in full reads: To our Star Wars Celebration Fans and Friends, At Star Wars Celebration, the health and safety of our fans, attendees, exhibitors, guests and staff is always our number one priority. Due to the global impact of the COVID-19 virus and in speaking with local and state authorities on the latest public health guidelines related to indoor conventions, we have made the decision to cancel Star Wars Celebration for 2020. Whilst this news is disappointing, we are happy to announce that Star Wars Celebration will return to the Anaheim Convention Centre on ...
