Celebrating STAR WARS

The eighth, and final, guest announcement brings a new face to Star Wars  Celebration - Rupert Friend. Rupert will be playing the Grand Inquisitor in Obi-Wan Kenobi , which begins streaming during Celebration, and brings the Celebration autograph hall to a total of 28. You can find Rupert, and all the other guests, on the Celebration Guests 2022 page. But that wasn't the only announcement yesterday as Official Pix also revealed a special after hours autograph event taking place at the Hilton Anaheim from 6pm to 10pm on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday where fans can meet even more guests for autographs and selfies! Guests include Ashley Eckstein, Taylor Gray, Matthew Wood, and more. You can find a full post with all the details of this event here .

"The dead speak!" Or, in this case, walk! The Star Wars  version of a zombie walk, the Death Troopers will be making their way to Celebration Anaheim. Taking place on Friday, May 27, this creepy march of the Death Troopers is timed to reach the Anaheim Convention Center just in time for the opening of the show floor at 10am. "This is unbelievable to report but we are receiving Holonet transmissions that the dead are rising from their graves and battle fields across the galaxy…   Right now there is a small group of undead Imperial Stormtroopers (Death Troopers we’re calling them) heading directly for the Anaheim Convention center. Experts determine they will reach their destination in May 27th at 10am.   Anyone in the area is warned to approach slowly and ask if they can get a “Selfie” as this seems to confuse the “Death Troopers” and temporarily satisfy their need for human flesh." You can find the Facebook event page here.

The Hip Hop Trooper (who I think everyone has spotted at least once at Celebration) is hosting his own event this Celebration with "Trooper's New Hope"! Taking place on Saturday, May 28, in the Foundation Room of Anaheim's House of Blues, tickets for this event will go on sale Saturday, May 13 (link will be provided once available), but for now you can check out the announcement post on Facebook .

Fan of fan made pins and patches? This is one for you! When the show floor closes, Nerdmatters are hosting a Maker Pop Up Shop featuring pins, patches, buttons, and more! The location is still TBC but the pop up shop will open at 7pm on Thursday, May 26. Here's a taste of what you can expect:

First announced on their podcast , The Star Wars  Underworld are hosting a Day One Afterparty at IHOP by the Anaheim Convention Center. Starting at 7pm, just as the show floor closes, join the podcast hosts and fellow Star Wars  fans for a relax and to talk about all the news from what looks set to be a massive first day. You can find the Facebook event page here.

The 501st. The Rebel Legion. The Mandalorian Mercs. Every Celebration has iconic photos of these groups (and more!) gathered together and Anaheim will be no different. Taking place at the stairs on the second floor of the south terrace the main group shoots have been scheduled for Friday and Saturday: Friday, May 27 Mandalorian Mercs - 11am Knights of the Jedi Order - 11:30am Rebel Legion - 1pm The Dark Empire - 2pm Saturday, May 28 501st Legion - 1pm Saber Guild - 8pm After the big group photos, smaller divisional photos will take place throughout the days. These, along with all other group photos announced so far, can be found on the Fan Events page . Please note that due to security reasons costuming groups are not able to access some of the photo locations until 10am so photo times have been updated.

The seventh guest announcement brings the fiercest bounty hunters in the galaxy to Star Wars  Celebration as Temuera Morrison officially joins the guest list. Temuera Morrison, who has portrayed both Jango and Boba Fett (as well as the Clone Troopers), had to drop out of Celebration Chicago so it's a joy to see him back for Anaheim, especially in the wake of his return in The Mandalorian  and The Book of Boba Fett . This brings the Celebration guest list to 27, with more announcements promised in the final weeks leading up to the show!
