Star Wars Celebration Returns to Japan in 2025!

Image
One week ago today, at the Closing Ceremony of Star Wars  Celebration Europe, we learnt that Celebration was heading back to Japan! In exactly two years from today, Star Wars Celebration Japan will take place at the Makuhari Messe convention center in Chiba. I still need to do a full look back at Celebration Europe, and a I will, but let's just quickly look to the future. Taking place from 18-20 April, 2025, Celebration Japan marks a return to the 3 day events that have been the standard for Celebrations taking place outside of America. The venue itself is one of the largest convention centers in Japan, located just outside of Tokyo and within half an hour of  the Tokyo Disney Resort via public transport. Makuhari Messe features an arena with a capacity of up to 9,000 people (depending on configuration) which makes it comparable to the arenas of Chicago and Anaheim and more than double the capacity of the Celebration Stage at ExCeL earlier this month. In fact the entire...

SWAG at Star Wars Celebration

Image
Fan made SWAG (stuff we all get/stuff we all give) is one of the nicest things to receive at Star Wars  Celebration. It's different from the official freebies (cool as they are) because you know that this is something that someone has created themselves just to give away to their fellow fans. It's that personal touch that makes the fan SWAG so special. Want to get involved and make your own SWAG? Check out the SWAG Crew Facebook page , it contains everything you could need to know about getting started. Thinking about your own SWAG? Your imagination is the limit but the most common items are patches and buttons. The SWAG Crew also raise money for their charity partner, Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation, and will be collecting a treasure chest of SWAG to be raffled off and won by one member of the SWAG group group. You can read all about it right here and donate your SWAG to the chest at the Norwich Star Wars  Club UK booth N1040 on the show floor. UPDATE - D...

Celebration Store Revealed for 2023

Image
These are the exclusives you're looking for! Today Star Wars  Celebration has revealed all of the exclusive merchandise you will only be able to find in the official Celebration Store in London! Well, almost all! We still haven't seen the full pin collection for this year. This year's offerings are broken down into three collections - Key Art & Logo (including some gorgeous badge art shirts), Return of the Jedi  40th Anniversary, and the Legacy/Saga collection. There's a few fun novelties, but the shirts are definitely where it's at this year. That Grogu Squid and Chips shirt will definitely be coming home with me, along with a few of the badge art shirts (gutted there's no Chopper but the Luke and Vader are musts!) Hope you find something that catches your eye! I've updated the Show Store 2023 page with everything revealed today, and remember you can see all the vendor exclusives on this page as well.

Panel Selection & Lightspeed Lane Guide 2023

Image
Hey everyone, sorry for the delay on this piece, it was my last week at my current job this week so time kinda got away from me. Lots of changes this year so lets break down everything you need to know about Panel Selections, Lightspeed Lanes, and more! PANELS There will be at 2 types of panel entry at Celebration Europe this year. The online Panel Selection (lottery) and good, old fashioned, queuing. Barring any late announcements nearer the time, it looks like the daily Lightspeed Lane Reservation system for Galaxy and Twin Suns Stages is out this year. Entry to the online selection process began on March 14 and will close on Tuesday, March 21, at 11:59PM GMT. Selection is random and the time you enter has no impact on your chances of being selected for panel entry. Entry to the lottery will be at  this site  and is via the emai...
