An Apology & Some Updates

Sorry for the lack of posts over the summer. Life got busy and I didn't update this blog anywhere near as much as I had planned to. That ends now. Going forward I'm going to do everything I can to make sure this place is updated at least once a week with the latest Celebration news, preparation guides, hints and tips.

So what did I miss?

Friday tickets are now over 90% sold. Now, this is the first day of panels and it's widely expected that the opening panel will be the Episode IX panel with J.J. Abrams and the cast of the final installment of the Skywalker Saga. This is the big one. So if you want to be there and haven't got your tickets yet, make sure you grab them sooner rather than later.

Since the crazily fast sellout of five day passes and Saturday tickets, things seem to have calmed down a little. Thursday passes, announced as 85% gone back in June, are still available and the Friday announcement was made at the end of August. So whilst I'd still advise you're safer buying them as soon as possible, the sell out rate has definitely slowed down considerably since tickets first went on sale.

We have our first hosts! Amy Ratcliffe and David Collins are returning to Celebration. David, a Celebration veteran since Celebration IV, will again host the Galaxy Stage, whilst Amy is returning to host the Behind the Scenes Stage for the third time.

I will do a separate post for this and create a new "Guests" tab at on the main page at some point this week.

It's great to have the first guests announced! I can't wait to hear who will be hosting the main Celebration Stage next year. Warick Davis was a great host in London (and in Orlando judging by the live stream) so I'd love to see him return again for Chicago.

Submissions have also closed now for the official Celebration Art show, as well as for fan built prop and set displays. So hopefully we should start to hear some teases about what these amazing artists have in store for us over the coming months.

If you want to host your own panel at Celebration then you still have until the end of the month to submit your pitch. StarWars.com has just posted a great post on how you can make your own Celebration panel happen. Me? I'd get stage fright. But I look forward to seeing what you come up with!
