Special Disney After Dark Star Wars Nite Event Announced for Star Wars Celebration
This is the event you are looking for! And the one you've been waiting for.
Originally planned to coincide with Star Wars Celebration 2020, Disneyland After Dark's Star Wars Nite will finally take place this May! Now taking place on three nights, including May 3rd, May 4th (of course!) and the Celebration night of May 27th this galactic spectacular will take place from 21:00 - 01:00 each night and is set to include:
- Early Admission (your Star Wars Nite tickets allows park access from 18:00)
- A Star Wars themed fireworks spectacular
- Galactic dance parties
- Character encounters
- Event themed merchandise and food
- Event themed backdrops for Disney PhotoPass photographers (PhotoPass included for the event)
- A souvenir credential and event guide
All of Disneyland's Star Wars rides will be open for guests to ride. Including Rise of the Resistance which was not set to be open back in 2020 (though Disney's website does note this will be subject to availability) and you can go in costume. I mean, who doesn't want to fly the Millennium Falcon whilst dressed as Han Solo?
As originally written below, Savi's Workshop, the Droid Depot, and Oga's Cantina are all expected to be open and reservations are recommended, but unless you're only planning to visit Disneyland on this one night my recommendation would be to enjoy the (comparatively) smaller crowds and activities that are exclusive to the event.
Whilst I'm fortunate enough to have been to Walt Disney World several times, Star Wars Nite will actually be my first time experiencing the original Disneyland and Galaxy's Edge so I absolutely can't wait to go!

When there's a Star Wars Celebration near the parks you can always count on Disney to do something special.
On Thursday August 27th, the opening night of Celebration Anaheim, Disneyland will celebrate our favourite galaxy far, far away with a special Disneyland After Dark Star Wars Nite!
This galactic special event will feature;
To attend this special event you will need a special Star Wars Nite ticket that will give you access to the park from 6pm (earlier access to the park will require a standard Disneyland ticket which is not required for the event).
Since the park will close early for those without a Star Wars Nite ticket, this will be an incredible opportunity to experience Disneyland and Galaxy's Edge with smaller crowds and shorter queues. And given how fast boarding passes are going it will likely give you much better odds at experiencing Rise of the Resistance as well!
Plus you can go in costume! Yes, so long as your costume conforms with Disney's special event guidelines (so no masks or capes that drag on the floor) you can come fully decked out in your cosplay finest. You can fly the Millennium Falcon as Han Solo or visit Savi's Workshop as Rey and get that perfect Batuu photo.
Prices and on sale date are still to be announced. For now, all we know is a "limited quantity" of tickets will "be available soon". So make sure you keep an eye on the Disneyland After Dark event page for the latest updates.
Reservations for the Droid Depot and Savi's Workshop will be available during the event so follow the links for more details. However, my advice if you are planning more days in the parks would be to focus your time on the exclusive events that are only available as part of Star Wars Nite. Having down Mickey's No So Scary Halloween Party in Florida I know time just flies by during these special events.
