Entry to Celebration, Will Call & Accessibility
Here is everything you know about getting into Star Wars Celebration and all of the exciting panels and events each morning!
This guide is currently a work in progress and will be updated as we learn more over the next few weeks.
Will Call
To enter Star Wars Celebration you must have a valid badge (of course!)
Since badges aren't being posted this year everyone will have to collect from the Will Call counter. The good news is that because of this Will Call will be opening much earlier than usual to ensure that everyone has time to collect their badges before the convention.
Will Call and Registration is located in Hall 9 (Level 1) of Makuhari Messe and will be open:
Tuesday 10:00-19:00
Wednesday 08:00-19:00
Thursday 08:00-20:00
Friday 07:00-18:00
Saturday 07:00-18:00
Sunday 07:30-16:00
Initial Entry/Security
Once you have your badge you will be able to proceed directly to your queue area each morning, presumably after clearing security/bag check.
Everyone will most likely have to go through metal detectors and bag check on entry. Fans coming in cosplay make sure you check out the new rules in place for Japan regarding which costumes you can arrive in and which must be changed into at the event. As always the less you have with you, the faster you will clear security.
Whilst we are still waiting on the full entry procedures, a map and queue locations have been announced.
Main Entrance
The main entrance will be via Hall 1.
The morning queue currently looks to begin outside of Hall 1 then snake round the building and back to the Outdoor Exhibition Space.
Presumably this line will be split into show floor and those with Galaxy and Twin Suns Stages reservations for the opening panels.
Jedi Master VIPs (show floor) and those with accessibility stickers (show floor, reservations for Galaxy or Twin Suns) will have their own lines outside of Hall 1.
Celebration Stage
Queuing for the opening morning panel looks like it will be outside the arena where the map shows queues for Jedi Master VIPs, those with Celebration Stage reservations, and those requiring accessibility stickers with Celebration Stage reservations.
Galaxy & Twin Suns Stages
Queuing for both Galaxy and Twin Suns Stages (for fans with reservations) begins on Level 1 outside of Hall 1 (presumably alongside the main entrance queue but in a separate chute).
Based on past events there will be accessibility lines for both. I will confirm this as soon as the details are announced.
Celebration Show Store
Queuing for the Celebration Show Store looks like it will be inside Hall 9 where the map shows queues for Jedi Master VIPs, those with Lightning Lane passes, and those requiring accessibility stickers.
If you do not have a Jedi Master VIPs badge or Lightning Lane reservation for 9am then presumably you will have to enter the show floor via Hall 1 before making your way to the Celebration Show Store line in Hall 9.
All of this will be updated and confirmed once the entry procedures are announced.
Accessibility
The Accessibility Desk is located in Hall 9 with Will Call and Registration. Desk hours are the same as on site badge collection. There will be additional Info Booths in Hall 9 and Hall 5.
Here you can get your accessibility sticker, learn about accessibility services, and have any accessibility questions answered. You must get you accessibility sticker to be able to use accessibility services at Celebration.
Accessibility stickers are valid for the full duration of the convention. Please do not remove the sticker during the event.
One companion sticker will be issued per disabled guest (with exceptions for families with young children). If you are eligible for a free Carer badge this will receive your companion sticker.
There will be dedicated accessibility lines for entry each morning, all stages/panel rooms, and autographs and photo ops. If additional lines are formed/required please see staff on site. There is no mention of seating in the lines. At past events those in accessibility queues were permitted to bring small personal chairs with them as long as they were collapsible and able to fit into a backpack or small bag. I would assume this to be the case in Japan as well.
Service animals are fully permitted throughout the Makuhari Messe, however this does not include emotional support animals, therapy animals, or companion animals.
Makuhari Messe is fully navigable for guests with mobility disabilities, with accessible pathways and lifts connecting all areas. Guest are encouraged to use wheelchairs, scooters, and other forms of personal transportation. Free wheelchair rentals are available but are limited and will be first come first served.
A Quiet room will be available in the Hall 1 Organizer Room.
