Celebrating STAR WARS

  Return of the Jedi  is returning to the big screen! To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the conclusion of the original trilogy, D23 is bringing Return of the Jedi  back to cinemas for one night only during Star Wars  Celebration. Taking place on Saturday, April 8, D23 will be hosting 2 screenings at Odeon Covent Garden. Doors for the first screening open at 18:30 (with the film starting at 19:30) with the second screening an hour later. Both screenings will kick off with a special pre-show and include pop corn, water, and "a commemorative gift from a galaxy far, far away". Tickets are on sale now to D23 Gold and general members costing $40 (plus $5 processing fee) and $50 (plus $7 processing fee) respectively. Honestly, as much as I would love to see Jedi  on the big screen again (it's my favorite Star Wars  movie after all), I feel this is over priced. Movie screenings have been announced for Celebration Chicago! Taking place over four days (no screenings on Saturday) all ten Star Wars movies will be screened at the connected Marriott Marquis hotel. The full schedule is; Thursday Solo 13:00-15:15 Rogue One 15:25-17:30 Friday A New Hope 12:00-14:40 The Empire Strikes Back 14:30-16:40 Return of the Jedi 16:50-19:00 Sunday The Force Awakens 12:00-14:20 The Last Jedi 14:30-16:50 The Phantom Menace 17:00-19:10 Monday Attack of the Clones 12:00-14:25 Revenge of the Sith 14:35-16:55 The screenings are free to anyone with a Celebration badge on a first-come, first served basis. It's not been announced if they will be clearing the screening room between movies but with a only a 10 minute turn around time between movies I'd guessing not. In the past Star Wars Celebration has held movie screenings on site during evenings at the convention. The 3D editions of Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith even premiered at Celebration and remain Celebration exclusives. Honestly, I'd hoped ReedPOP and Lucasfilm would have screened the prequels in 3D this year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the trilogy. Whilst they still might be added to the schedule, one screening has been announced. D23 is celebrating Star Wars Celebration with a special screening of Return of the Jedi at Chicago's AMC River East! Tickets are free to D23 Gold Members and can be obtained here .
