Star Wars Celebration Reveals Key Art and Ticket Sale Date for Japan 2025

Well, that was a littler earlier than expected!

Last night Star Wars Celebration revealed the key art for Japan 2025 and announced that tickets for the highly anticipated event would go on sale Thursday, May 2, at 19:00 EST (US) / Friday, May 3, at 08:00 JST (Japan).

Debuting the key art StarWars.com revealed that it was created using the traditional Japanese sumi-e style of blank ink painting. The artwork blends together the iconography of Star Wars with that of Japan itself, with Mount Fuji centered in Japan's Rising Sun flag, framed by TIE Fighters, X-wings, and AT-ATs, with Darth Vader in the foreground and swirls of black ink extending from the Sith Lord to form the branches of cherry blossom trees.


When tickets go on sale (as near to May 4th as possible) they will cost $168.85 for a 3-Day adult badge and $42.35 for a 3-Day child badge. Single day badges will also be available at $58.85 each for adults and $20.35 for children.

There will also be a limited number of Jedi Master VIP badges available.

If you are lucky enough to get one of these elusive tickets they cost $993.25 each and come with the following VIP perks:

  • Guaranteed admission to all panels on the Celebration Stage (must arrive 30 minutes prior to start of panel or seat may be forfeited)
  • Thursday Night Official Celebration Store Shopping Experience
  • 15 minute early entry to the Exhibit Hall and VIP Lounge
  • Designated VIP line for autographing and photo ops
  • Designated VIP line for Celebration Store
  • VIP Lounge - Complimentary coat check and charging stations
  • Preshow and onsite Conceirge
  • VIP only exclusive holo badge 
  • VIP only exclusive special enamel pin
  • VIP only exclusive show lanyard
  • VIP only exclusive water bottle
  • Official show poster with tube
  • Complimentary Star Wars Celebration branded chopsticks

This year the Jedi Master badges promise to be extra elusive as VIP badge holders from Celebration 2023 will receive an exclusive pre-sale!

That's right, last year's VIPs will have first shot at tickets for Celebration 2025 with a pre-sale taking place Wednesday, May 1, at 12:00 EST (US) / 01:00 JST (Japan).

Honestly, I'm not the biggest fan of this as it potentially sets up an exclusive VIP club going forward. Whilst VIP tickets have always required luck, at least it was a relatively level playing field. It will be interesting to see if this carries over to future Celebrations or if it's a one off to tempt existing VIPs to make the trip to Japan.

The official FAQ has also been updated, confirming that there will be an official hotel block offering discounted rates on local hotels with details coming soon. As always, I will update this blog and the Celebration Preparation 2025 page as soon as the details are announced.

First Details on New Virtual Queuing System Revealed

Even without The Star Wars Show (what happened?!) there's still some big Celebration news today as eager fans across America began to receive their badges and the first information on the new queueing system. Whilst the full details of the new system haven't been revealed yet, it looks like Celebration's infamous overnight line ups (seen above in an image from WDW Info) are now a thing of the past. The Resistance Broadcast's Lacey Gilleran shared pictures of her VIP badge today (featuring some great Qui-Gon Jinn artwork) which came bearing the message Activate your badge now to maximize your SWCC Experience! StarWarsCelebration.com/Activate The link takes you to a GrowTix page that essentially tells you that your Celebration badge is your first step into a larger world. Lightspeed Details! Lotteries, Panel Reservations & Virtual Lines

There's been lots of information revealed today so let's start with the big one! No opinions here, just the facts as best as I can work them out.
