Exclusive D23 Screening of Return of the Jedi for Star Wars Celebration


In the past Star Wars Celebration has held movie screenings on site during evenings at the convention. The 3D editions of Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith even premiered at Celebration and remain Celebration exclusives.

Honestly, I'd hoped ReedPOP and Lucasfilm would have screened the prequels in 3D this year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the trilogy. Whilst they still might be added to the schedule, one screening has been announced.

D23 is celebrating Star Wars Celebration with a special screening of Return of the Jedi at Chicago's AMC River East!

Tickets are free to D23 Gold Members and can be obtained here. Gold Members can claim up to 2 tickets whilst Gold Family Members may claim up to 4. All attendees will receive a voucher for popcorn and a drink along with a D23 exclusive gift!

I'm a little surprised it isn't The Phantom Menace but Jedi is my favourite movie of the saga and, coming from the UK, this is the first time I can actually attend a D23 screening so I'm really excited to see the movie on the big screen again surrounded by hundreds of fans!

  Funko went all out for May the 4th, revealing the multitude of  Star Wars Celebration exclusives coming from Funko and Loungefly. First up is the Diamond Glitter Grogu. Limited to 5000 pieces, this is a shared exclusive with other ReedPOP conventions this year. Some Early Celebration Europe 2023 Advice

  Over the next few weeks I'm going to start updating this blog with a new 2023 hub and working on new guides for next year. But for those of you who want to get the jump on things I figured I'd do a quick post with the information we do have (and a little on what we can expect to be different from last time Celebration was in London). Next year Star Wars Celebration is returning to London, and to the ExCeL Center where both Celebration Europe 2007 and 2016 were held. This will be the first four day Celebration in Europe and will take place over the Easter weekend from Friday, April 7, to Monday, April 10. Ticket sales haven't been announced yet (hopefully we should see them in the next month or two), so most of this will be focused on hotels and how things ran in 2016.
