Rosario Dawson Announced for Star Wars Celebration Japan

Image
Last night, or this morning depending on your time zone, Star Wars  Celebration announced that Rosario Dawson, Ahsoka Tano herself, will be meeting fans in Japan. Rosario Dawson will be signing and have photo ops on both Friday and Sunday. I've updated the Celebration Guest and added direct links to her Epic Photos/Official Pix purchase page as well.

Celebration Basics - A Brief Guide to Tokyo

Image
I'm going to be honest right off the bat, a guide to Tokyo is something that's way beyond my area of expertise so this page is going to be more of a link to other, more detailed, guides and sources of information. And a massive shout out to the Star Wars Celebration discord group for some of the links/information in this guide! Travelling with Medication Japan has strict laws on the import and export of many drugs that are available on prescription around the world. Whilst a month's supply of most personal medicines is allowed to be brought in, some drugs are restricted and require prior approval from Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. You can read a full guide at Japan Travel and see the official government website, along with downloadable import/export forms, here . Driving in Japan Planning on driving whilst in Japan? Want to take part in "Mario" karting through the streets of Tokyo? Then you'll need an International Driving Permit (IDP...

Image
Hello there! This page is your guide to all the online selection processes. Panel Reservations (lotteries), Lightspeed Lane Reservations for the Celebration Store, and any exclusive Shopping Reservations (lotteries), you'll find all the details below. First though, Ticket Transfers. TICKET TRANSFERS A new wrinkle this year. To take part in online reservations each ticket must be assigned to a unique email address. You can transfer tickets until approximately one week before pre-show reservations begin. We don't have a date for this yet but if we use Europe 2023 as a guide it would be roughly one month before the convention. I will update this guide as soon as dates are known. You can view the official guide to Ticket Transfers here. To transfer tickets visit the Showclix My Tickets page and log in using the email address you used when purchasing your tickets (click "Forgot Password" if you have not previously created one). Celebration Basics - Cosplay at Celebration

Image
So you want to cosplay at Star Wars Celebration. That's awesome! One of the best things at  Star Wars  Celebration is seeing so many fans in absolutely amazing costumes! So where do you start? First decide what you want to be. A Jedi Knight or a Sith Lord? A hero of the Rebellion or a loyal Imperial officer? Do you want to be a character from the movies, TV shows, Legends, or maybe one of your own creation? Heck, why not mash it up a bit?! At previous Celebration's I've seen a Jedi Joker, a Captain America Stormtrooper, and a Pikachu inspired Mandalorian. Be whatever you want to be! First things first, cosplaying will be a little different in Japan with the new rules around travelling to and from Celebration in costume, so make sure you read the full Cosplay Guide on the official site. It may affect the costume(s) you decide to wear to the convention. In brief, Japanese etiquette frowns upon wearing costumes that could be disruptive to fellow passengers whilst using publi...

Celebration Basics - The Convention Bag

Image
So, you're off to Celebration! Like any convention,  Star Wars  Celebration is a melting pot of fans and creatives from all around the world. There's so much to see and do, and you'll likely be on the go for most of your time there, so a good convention bag with all your essentials is a must! Like with the  main packing list , everyone will be different so this guide is to just to help pick out the essentials that most people will need whilst exploring the convention center. The Essentials If you want to take the bare minimum, you won't need a bag at all, just these few essentials to get you through your day. Celebration Badge & Lanyard Your ticket to the galaxy. You'll be wearing this every moment you're at Celebration. Wallet Even if you don't plan on spending anything at Celebration, the chances are you will. Plus it never hurts to have ID on you (which you'll need if collecting badges at Will Call) along with some money for any emergencies or j...

So what should you be taking with you for this  Star Wars  extravaganza? Everyone's list of convention essentials will be slightly different, we're all individuals after all, so I'm just going to try and make this list as comprehensive as possible. Will I get absolutely everything in here? Of course not! So please let me know if I'm missing one of your essential items and I'll add it to the list. There's two bags that you'll need to be thinking of - your main travel case and your convention bag that you'll be taking with you to Celebration each day. Celebration Basics - Budget, Budget, Budget

Image
There's no way around this, Star Wars Celebration is expensive. So, unless you've got a camtono of beskar lying around, you're going to need to budget. It's certainly possible to have an absolutely fantastic time at Celebration without spending anything on top of your tickets, hotel, transport, and food costs, but if you're planning on buying any of the exclusive merchandise or getting an autograph or photo with your favorite Star Wars celebrity then the costs can add up real quick. My best advice here is to start saving as soon as you can, even a little a month will soon add up, and the sooner you start saving, the more prepared you'll be. The Essentials There are basically four essentials for  Star Wars  Celebration. Your Tickets The good news is at this point your Celebration badges are likely bought and paid for, so that's one expense you don't have to worry about anymore. Your Travel Unless you're traveling locally or waiting for a last minute...
