Star Wars Festival and Official Eve of Celebration Event Announced
To celebrate the return of Star Wars Celebration to Japan there is going to be an official festival event in Toyosago Park and the adjacent Aeon Mall, Makuhari New City (where cinema screenings of the full Skywalker Saga are being held), about a fifteen minute walk from convention centre!
Kicking things off will be a special Eve Festival Event at Toyosago Park which will be invite only on Thursday, April 17.
How do you get invited? First you need to follow the official @starwarsjapan on Twitter, then you need to quote repost the campaign post sharing your love for Star Wars and/or your hopes for Star Wars Celebration Japan.
If you win you will be notified by direct message with your invitation.
Guest appearances are planned and the lucky fans who win an invite will be able to take part in special activities and enjoy photo spots throughout "Star Wars Festival Square" until 8PM.
If you're not one of the lucky invitees, don't worry, the Star Wars Festival will be open from Thursday, April 17, through to Sunday, April 20, so you will have plenty of time to enjoy the event whilst attending Star Wars Celebration! The festivities will take place at the Aeon Mall from Thursday to Sunday and in Toyosa Park on Saturday and Sunday. (Times to be confirmed).
The competition is open until 11:59PM (JST) for Japanese residents only. You can read all of the details here. And I'll update this post when details of the regular opening hours for the festival are announced.
