Gus Lopez Returns to Host Star Wars Celebration Collecting Track


I missed this last year, but I'm very happy to confirm that the Star Wars Celebration Collecting Track will be back again in April, and once again hosted by Gus Lopez!

Gus made the announcement on the Collecting Track Facebook group, saying;

"I am thrilled to announce the Collecting Track for Star Wars Celebration Chicago 2019 in Chicago, Illinois on April 11-15, 2019. Similar to past Star Wars Celebration events, the Collecting Track is the place where Star Wars collectors spanning all levels and interests come together to participate in talks, panels, and activities around the Star Wars collecting hobby.

The Star Wars Collecting Track is a completely fan-run event. All of the panellists and presenters for the collecting program are fans like you from the Star Wars collecting community. Panels consist of discussion topics with 1-4 presenters covering an area or aspect of Star Wars collecting. If you are interested in being a Star Wars Celebration Collecting Track presenter, please submit … panel information to me at guslopez@gmail.com by January 14, 2019."

Panel selection will be done by February 11th so we should find out which amazing panels are coming our way next month!

First Details on New Virtual Queuing System Revealed

Even without The Star Wars Show (what happened?!) there's still some big Celebration news today as eager fans across America began to receive their badges and the first information on the new queueing system. Whilst the full details of the new system haven't been revealed yet, it looks like Celebration's infamous overnight line ups (seen above in an image from WDW Info) are now a thing of the past. The Resistance Broadcast's Lacey Gilleran shared pictures of her VIP badge today (featuring some great Qui-Gon Jinn artwork) which came bearing the message Activate your badge now to maximize your SWCC Experience! StarWarsCelebration.com/Activate The link takes you to a GrowTix page that essentially tells you that your Celebration badge is your first step into a larger world. Funko Exclusives Announced for Star Wars Celebration 2022

  Funko went all out for May the 4th, revealing the multitude of  Star Wars Celebration exclusives coming from Funko and Loungefly. First up is the Diamond Glitter Grogu. Limited to 5000 pieces, this is a shared exclusive with other ReedPOP conventions this year. Classic A New Hope  versions of Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, and a Stormtrooper will be available as single POP figures and a 5-Pack featuring all the figures on one stand. The singles will cost $12 and the 5-Pack will cost $59.99. The 5-Pack is a shared exclusive with Amazon. The singles are divided between multiple retailers. Luke at Box Lunch, Leia at FYE, Chewie at Target, Stormtrooper at Gamestop, and Vader is a Funko web exclusive.
