The Emperor Comes to Celebration & Autograph & Photo Ops Sale Date Announced


We are now less than 60 days away from Star Wars Celebration Chicago! Let that sink in for a moment. Less than 2 months until what promises to be the biggest Celebration so far!

And with that in mind the Star Wars Celebration have announced three more guests today and confirmed that tickets for all both autographs and photo ops will go on sale Wednesday February 13th at midday PST (that's 2pm Central and 8pm GMT).

The official site confirms that if an autograph or photo op session sells out during pre-orders, then it is sold out and there will not be additional sales during the show. So if you know there's someone you have to meet, grab your tickets as quickly as possible, especially for the big names! For any photo ops and autographs that don't sell out ahead of time, you will be able to purchase tickets from Topps on site at Celebration.

Joining the Celebration line up today is the Emperor himself, Ian McDiarmid! Star of Return of the Jedi and the Prequel Trilogy!


Joining him is BB-8 puppeteer, Brian Herring. One half of the team behind everyone's favourite new droid, as well as the man behind multiple other creatures and characters in the Sequel Trilogy.


Rounding out today's new guests is Mark Dodson, the voice behind Salacious B. Crumb and numerous other aliens and Stormtroopers.

First Details on New Virtual Queuing System Revealed

Even without The Star Wars Show (what happened?!) there's still some big Celebration news today as eager fans across America began to receive their badges and the first information on the new queueing system. Whilst the full details of the new system haven't been revealed yet, it looks like Celebration's infamous overnight line ups (seen above in an image from WDW Info) are now a thing of the past. The Resistance Broadcast's Lacey Gilleran shared pictures of her VIP badge today (featuring some great Qui-Gon Jinn artwork) which came bearing the message Activate your badge now to maximize your SWCC Experience! StarWarsCelebration.com/Activate The link takes you to a GrowTix page that essentially tells you that your Celebration badge is your first step into a larger world. Funko Exclusives Announced for Star Wars Celebration 2022

  Funko went all out for May the 4th, revealing the multitude of  Star Wars Celebration exclusives coming from Funko and Loungefly. First up is the Diamond Glitter Grogu. Limited to 5000 pieces, this is a shared exclusive with other ReedPOP conventions this year. Classic A New Hope  versions of Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, and a Stormtrooper will be available as single POP figures and a 5-Pack featuring all the figures on one stand. The singles will cost $12 and the 5-Pack will cost $59.99. The 5-Pack is a shared exclusive with Amazon. The singles are divided between multiple retailers. Luke at Box Lunch, Leia at FYE, Chewie at Target, Stormtrooper at Gamestop, and Vader is a Funko web exclusive.
