Entry to Celebration - Your Guide to Getting In on the Day


You know we're getting close when the official entry procedures are announced!

Make sure you click the link and read everything in full, but to keep it simple, here's what you need to know!

The Basics

To enter Star Wars Celebration you must have a badge! Pretty self explanatory really!

Everyone will go through metal detectors and bag check on entry. Fans are free to come in costume and bring whatever they need, just be aware that the less you have with you the faster you will clear security.

Will Call

If you don't have one then you will need to collect your badge from the Will Call counter at Fan Services. This is located next to the shuttles at Gate 41. You will need your confirmation email (on your phone or printed out) and a valid form of ID.

Wednesday April 10th, 14:00-20:00
Thursday April 11th, 08:00-20:00
Friday April 12th, 06:00-19:00
Saturday April 13th, 06:00-19:00
Sunday April 14th, 06:00-19:00
Monday April 15th, 06:00-16:30

If Monday badges are still available you will be able to purchase them at Fan Services.

Main Entrance

 The main entrance to Star Wars Celebration is at Gate 41. After going through security you will join the queue for the Show Floor.

There will be separate queues for those who have won the panel lottery and have reservations for the live streaming of the morning panel to the Galaxy and Twin Suns Stages. Fans will be escorted to the stages when the show floor opens, ensuring queue position is maintained.

The queue will open 4 hours before show floor. Fans will not be allowed to enter before this time.

Gate 41 is the only entrance prior to 10:00 (13:00 on Thursday). Once the opening queue has been processed, multiple entrances and exits will be open. All show entrances are equipped to welcome and prioritise ADA guests.

VIP Entrance

 Jedi Masters will have a dedicated entrance at the Taxi/Ride Share Drop Off at Gate 40. Once inside VIPs will need to follow signs to the VIP Lounge (Room W181) where they can check in with the VIP coordinator to pick up their exclusive merchandise. VIPs will be met in the Lounge and escorted to their exclusive shopping experience, early show floor access, and more.

Celebration Stage (Wintrust Arena)

 If you're lucky enough to win the panel lottery and the Celebration Stage is your first stop of the day, then you can head straight to the Wintrust Arena. There you will pass through security and be seated for the biggest panels of the weekend. You do not need to go to McCormick Place ahead of the panel.

Entrance to the Wintrust Arena is at the corner of South Indiana Avenue and East Cermak Road. This is the only entrance open for Celebration attendees.

Jedi Masters I assume the process will be advised by the VIP coordinator on Thursday. I'm not sure if you will have a dedicated entrance at Wintrust or if you will be escorted from the VIP Lounge.

First Details on New Virtual Queuing System Revealed

Even without The Star Wars Show (what happened?!) there's still some big Celebration news today as eager fans across America began to receive their badges and the first information on the new queueing system. Whilst the full details of the new system haven't been revealed yet, it looks like Celebration's infamous overnight line ups (seen above in an image from WDW Info) are now a thing of the past. The Resistance Broadcast's Lacey Gilleran shared pictures of her VIP badge today (featuring some great Qui-Gon Jinn artwork) which came bearing the message Activate your badge now to maximize your SWCC Experience! StarWarsCelebration.com/Activate The link takes you to a GrowTix page that essentially tells you that your Celebration badge is your first step into a larger world. Funko Exclusives Announced for Star Wars Celebration 2022

  Funko went all out for May the 4th, revealing the multitude of  Star Wars Celebration exclusives coming from Funko and Loungefly. First up is the Diamond Glitter Grogu. Limited to 5000 pieces, this is a shared exclusive with other ReedPOP conventions this year. Classic A New Hope  versions of Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, and a Stormtrooper will be available as single POP figures and a 5-Pack featuring all the figures on one stand. The singles will cost $12 and the 5-Pack will cost $59.99. The 5-Pack is a shared exclusive with Amazon. The singles are divided between multiple retailers. Luke at Box Lunch, Leia at FYE, Chewie at Target, Stormtrooper at Gamestop, and Vader is a Funko web exclusive.
