Galaxy's Edge is Coming to Celebration!


Ok, Galaxy's Edge itself isn't, McCormick Place is big but it's not fitting a 14 acre themed land into the convention hall. But the team behind Galaxy's Edge is!

With Disney's biggest ever expansion set to open in Disneyland on May 31st and Hollywood Studios on August 29th, this is your chance to hear from the incredible teams from Walt Disney Imagineering and Lucasfilm who made Batuu a reality.

On Saturday, April 13th, you won't want to miss this amazing panel on the Celebration Stage, where the teams will share stories on what it takes to bring Star Wars to life in the parks, what guests can expect from their visit to Batuu, and maybe a few surprises as well!

I have to admit, after IX this is the panel I'm most looking forward to. The reveals last month made me want to book a flight to Walt Disney World for opening day. I'm not, I'm already planning on going in 2021 so I can't afford to go again before then, but oh I wish I could! I can't wait to learn more at this panel and hear all about it from other fans when Galaxy's Edge opens!

First Details on New Virtual Queuing System Revealed

Even without The Star Wars Show (what happened?!) there's still some big Celebration news today as eager fans across America began to receive their badges and the first information on the new queueing system. Whilst the full details of the new system haven't been revealed yet, it looks like Celebration's infamous overnight line ups (seen above in an image from WDW Info) are now a thing of the past. The Resistance Broadcast's Lacey Gilleran shared pictures of her VIP badge today (featuring some great Qui-Gon Jinn artwork) which came bearing the message Activate your badge now to maximize your SWCC Experience! StarWarsCelebration.com/Activate The link takes you to a GrowTix page that essentially tells you that your Celebration badge is your first step into a larger world. Funko Exclusives Announced for Star Wars Celebration 2022

  Funko went all out for May the 4th, revealing the multitude of  Star Wars Celebration exclusives coming from Funko and Loungefly. First up is the Diamond Glitter Grogu. Limited to 5000 pieces, this is a shared exclusive with other ReedPOP conventions this year. Classic A New Hope  versions of Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, and a Stormtrooper will be available as single POP figures and a 5-Pack featuring all the figures on one stand. The singles will cost $12 and the 5-Pack will cost $59.99. The 5-Pack is a shared exclusive with Amazon. The singles are divided between multiple retailers. Luke at Box Lunch, Leia at FYE, Chewie at Target, Stormtrooper at Gamestop, and Vader is a Funko web exclusive.
