Vader: Immortal to Premiere at Star Wars Celebration

Lord Vader. Rise!

Yesterday ILMxLAB dropped a surprise announcement; Vader Immortal is coming to Celebration Chicago next month! The Oculus Quest VR series is due to launch later this year but you can play it first at Star Wars Celebration!

At 1:30pm on Friday April 12th, the creative team behind the VR series will take to the Celebration Stage to reveal new details and discuss the making of the virtual reality project. Written by David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight Trilogy) the series, which is in canon and takes place between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, picks up after the events of ILMxLAB and The Void's Secrets of the Empire and finds the player on Mustafar, lightsaber in hand as a new Star Wars adventure begins.

After the panel, ILMxLAB and Oculus will open a booth on the show floor where fans can experience an interactive demo of first chapter that will bring them face to face with Darth Vader himself.

I'm not sure how they'll be organizing this but I know I want to try it. Trials on Tatooine was a lot of fun in London, and Secrets of the Empire was just an incredible experience. For the Trials on Tatooine demo at 2016's Celebration Europe ILMxLAB gave out timed return tickets at their booth when the show floor opened. I imagine they'll do the same again here, otherwise the queue would be massive with many fans likely to queue all day and not get in to the experience.

With Vader Immortal announced last night, that just leaves The Mandalorian as the last (expected) major panel that we don't have a day for. I'm guessing we'll learn that with today's episode of The Star Wars Show and then maybe, just maybe, we'll get the full schedule next week!
