Here We Go Again! Dates & Details Announced for Celebration Anaheim 2020

This is where the fun begins (again)!

Announced by one of the best Star Wars duos, Andi and Anthony, on a special edition of The Star Wars Show we finally know just when Celebration Anaheim will take place!

August 27th-30th.

Tickets will go an sale next Friday, June 21st, at 9am PT. That's right, tickets go on sale next week!!

But that's not all! The official Star Wars Celebration website also updated with a mountain of additional information so let's break it all down!

The Basics

Star Wars Celebration will take place at the Anaheim Convention Centre from Thursday August 27th to Sunday August 30th.

There is no Bounty Hunter preview day next year.

The exhibit hall will be open from 10:00am-7:00pm Thursday to Saturday, and 10:00am-5:00pm on Sunday. Jedi Masters will be allowed early access at 9:30am each day. Panels, screenings, and live events could go on until 10pm or later on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

Tickets

As mentioned above, tickets go on sale Friday, June 21st, at 9am PT.

Adult 4-Day Badges cost $195 in advance and $205 on the door, with single day badges costing $75 per day in advance and $85 on the door.

Kids 4-Day Badges cost $70.00 in advance and $80 on the door, with single day badges costing $35 per day in advance and $45 on the door.

Jedi Master Badges cost $900 (and will likely sell out faster than the Millennium Falcon makes the Kessel Run).

Prices do no include taxes and fees.

Those lucky enough to obtain one of the fabled Jedi Master Badges will receive;

- Early access (9:30am) to the Show Floor every day
- Early access (9:30am) to the Celebration Store every day
- Exclusive Celebration Store preview (time TBC but likely to be the evening of Wednesday 26th)
- Unlimited use of the Lightspeed Lane to enter the Celebration Store
- Express Checkout Lane in the Celebration Store
- 6 Lightspeed Lane Passes for Autograph Hall autograph sessions or photo ops.
- Priority Access to all panels on the Celebration Stage (must arrive roughly 45 minutes prior to the start of the panel, exact time TBC, there is no reserved seating)
- Jedi Master Lounge
- Complimentary Coat Check
- Jedi Master Concierge (available to help plan you day, assist with questions, etc.)
- Jedi Master Badge featuring exclusive art
- Original signed art print exclusive to Celebration Anaheim Jedi Masters
- Exclusive character pin not available for purchase (in Chicago this was one of the Staff exclusive pins)
- Jedi Master exclusive lanyard
- Jedi Master exclusive patch
- Jedi Master exclusive beverage tumbler
- Show poster complete with poster tube
- Commemorative Guide
- One time 10% discount in the Celebration Store

Hotels

The OnPeak hotel sale will open at 10am PT on June 21st.

There are a lot more hotels of all price ranges within walking distance than there were in Chicago so whether you book via OnPeak or directly with the hotel you should find it easier to get a room this time.

Lotteries & Lightspeed

Like in Chicago, select panels on the Celebration Stage will require a lottery win in order to enter.

Lightspeed Virtual Panel Reservations and Lightspeed Virtual Queuing for select panels and the Celebration Store are also returning next year.

More details will be released closer to Celebration but based on Chicago it's likely that the lotteries will be linked to the email you purchase your tickets with and will be for all seats to the major (first) panel of each day in the Celebration Stage (including streaming rooms), whilst the Panel Reservations will be linked to your badge via the Celebration App and be for a percentage of the seats at all other panels on the Galaxy and Twin Suns Stages, with stand by queues for the remaining seats.

There were definitely some teething problems with the lotteries and panel reservations in Chicago, and I still feel they need to do some form of pre-registration like with NYCC so lottery wins are linked directly to your badge (helping to avoid the inevitable selling of winning QR codes on eBay) but they still have over a year so let's see what they come up with. In general, the ideas behind the new systems were solid, so if everything works out this could be the smoothest Celebration yet.
