Record Sell Outs for Celebration Anaheim

Well that was fast!

The question of whether Chicago's rapid sell out was due to the more central location or a growing demand for Star Wars Celebration was answered beyond any shadow of a doubt on Friday night. Not only did Jedi Master VIP badges sell out within moments of going on sale, but 4-Day badges sold out in less than two hours! And the sell outs didn't stop there! Single day Saturday badges sold out on Friday as well!! This is an absolutely record setting sell out for Star Wars Celebration!

I know I said last week that if you wanted to get a 4-Day badge you should buy them on Friday but I had no idea the demand would be this high! I thought maybe a 24 hour sell out if it was demand for Celebration rather than the central location of Chicago that drove sales last year but I never would have imagined a sell out like this. We're rapidly heading towards SDCC territory here!

If you missed out, please don't resort to paying the scalpers on eBay! Especially with your lottery entries being linked to the email address that purchased the tickets. ReedPOP have already confirmed that the Lyte exchange service used for Celebration Chicago will again be in place for Anaheim. And with such a record sell out, I imagine it will be up an running sooner rather than later.

Whilst the Lyte page for Anaheim is already live, the exchange is not running yet so watch out for an official announcement soon. You will be able to get tickets at cost via Lyte. Just have patience and keep checking.

Or, use Saturday to visit Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland! You can still get single day badges for the remaining days, but act fast because Friday is already 85% gone!

Of course such a rapid sell out spurred an equally high demand for room via the official Connections Housing hotel block.

I have to be honest, I found the OnPeak system last year much more user friendly for browsing available hotels.

Again, if you didn't get what you wanted, or if like me you didn't get all the nights you need, don't worry. Just keep checking back. More rooms may be added, and rooms will be cancelled as people switch their reservations. Last year I got nothing on the day of the sale but still managed to secure room in a connected hotel by the time of Celebration. Just keep checking back. And remember, the vast majority of hotels haven't opened up direct bookings yet and there are plenty more hotels in the Disney area that are still within easy walking distance of the convention center.

One thing's for sure - Star Wars is alive and well, and I can't wait to celebrate with you all again next year!
