D23 Galactic Disco Announced for Celebration Anaheim

 

Get ready to party like an Ewok after the Battle of Endor! To kick off Star Wars Celebration in style the official Disney D23 fan club is hosting a Galactic Disco Night Dance Party at the House of Blues Anaheim.

Grammy-nominated DJ Mayer Hawthorne will be playing an exclusive set of "cosmic boogie and funky beats" for you to dance the night away to after the first day of Star Wars Celebration.

Doors will open at 7:30pm, just half an hour after the show floor closes, with the party raging from 8pm-10pm (so you'll be back at your hotel in time for the midnight premiere of Obi-Wan Kenobi).

Entry includes admission to the event, a Taco Bar (until 9pm), special photo backdrops, surprise character appearances, a commemorative keepsake upon departure, and more.

Tickets are only available to D23 members and cost $75 for General (free) Members, and $55 for Gold Members. Also available exclusively to Gold Members are a limited number of VIP Tickets for $100, which include exclusive reserved upstairs access, VIP location for the Taco Var, one beer or wine drink voucher, and a Star Tours 35th Anniversary Pin.

Tickets for this event will go on sale on Tueday, May 3, at 10am PT/1pm ET. Links to the tickets will be provided on the event page here (where you can also join D23).


And speaking of Star Tours' 35th anniversary, D23 will be hosting a panel on the Galaxy Stage dedicated to Disney Parks' first Star Wars attraction with the imagineers and filmmakers who brought our favorite galaxy to our favorite theme parks.

Some Early Celebration Europe 2023 Advice

  Over the next few weeks I'm going to start updating this blog with a new 2023 hub and working on new guides for next year. But for those of you who want to get the jump on things I figured I'd do a quick post with the information we do have (and a little on what we can expect to be different from last time Celebration was in London). Next year Star Wars Celebration is returning to London, and to the ExCeL Center where both Celebration Europe 2007 and 2016 were held. This will be the first four day Celebration in Europe and will take place over the Easter weekend from Friday, April 7, to Monday, April 10. Ticket sales haven't been announced yet (hopefully we should see them in the next month or two), so most of this will be focused on hotels and how things ran in 2016. First quick note - ExCeL is card only for their food court/own vendors, so keep that in mind when deciding how much money to change.
